Madonna | Kees Tabak Photoshoot 1984
Early March 1984 This photo-session with Madonna took place in a photo-studio in Amsterdam. Her record company in Holland telephoned Dutch photographer Kees Tabak and asked him if he would like to photograph a new singer called Madonna. She had her two dancers with her, friend and brother with her and they also featured in some photos from this session. The very first time Madonna was on the cover of the Dutch Nieuwe Revu magazine was on the March 27 – April 4 1985 edition. While the four page spread inside was a Dutch translation of the interview originally from Face magazine, the pictures were by Kees Tabak. “She was unknown, just before the release of her first album. We didn't talk much, but we had a great session”, Kees said.
