Selena Gomez Sizzles in 'Red Hot' Beaded Dress at 2023 MTV VMAs
Gomez dropped her song "Single Soon" on Aug. 25, her first new music in nearly a year
Selena Gomez has arrived.
The nominee, 31, stepped onto the pink carpet at the 2023 MTV VMAs in bold style, wearing a barely there beaded dress by Oscar de la Renta.
Her floral halter dress had a plunging neckline and a skirt made from beaded flowering vines — with a thigh-high slit left open in the front. Gomez accessorized with matching red heels and earrings.
The Only the Murders in the Building star kept her glam simple, choosing a neutral eye and lip shade that matched. She wore her hair down and straight, parted in the middle. With a dress as eye-catching as this one, you don't need to add anything else to your look!
Gomez's makeup artist Hung Vanngo shared an Instagram Reel of the star strutting the hallway before the VMAs to show off her look — even giving a bit of a twirl to demonstrate just how much swirl the dress has.
Her look was put together by her new stylist Erin Walsh — who also works with the likes of Anne Hathaway and Ashley Park. Nails were done by go-to nail artist Tom Bachik, who called the look Golden Glazed Fire Mani (and also provided a closeup of Gomez's rings!). The whole look was pulled together by hairstylist Anh Co Tran, who also shared the video and simply captioned it, "Red hot."
Gomez is up for three VMAs on Tuesday night, all for "Calm Down," her collab with Rema.
Gomez's appearance at the VMAs comes on the heels of the release of her latest song "Single Soon" on Aug. 25. It also marks the Rare Beauty founder's first red carpet since January's Golden Globe Awards, where she wore a sultry Valentino gown — and brought her little sister, Gracie, as her date!
That night, the superstar hit the red carpet in a velvet column gown with a high-slit and statement puff sleeves with a long train. She styled the look with Santoni platforms, De Beers diamonds and a classic '90s bombshell makeup moment.
Gracie had her own time in the spotlight when she showed up in a complementary golden dress and matching shoes. The best part of her look, though, was her dazzling Prada handbag!
