Reese Witherspoon is in her element. She wore black pumps to complete the look, with her hair side-parted and neutral clean makeup.

The actress was glowing as she attended the premiere for The Last Thing He Told Me on Thursday, April 13.

The 47-year-old hit the red carpet in a black, one-shoulder leather gown, which she paired with matching black heels. In addition to her fresh bronzed tan, she accessorized with silver earrings and rings.

Witherspoon—who serves as a producer on the Apple TV+ miniseries—was in good company, posing for photos and chatting with the show's lead and longtime friend, Jennifer Garner.

Many of Garner’s co-stars were also in attendance for the evening, including Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Aisha Tyler, Geoff Stults, John Harlan Kim, and Augusto Aguilera.

The event, held at the Regency Bruin Theatre in Los Angeles, marked Witherspoon’s first public appearance since announcing her divorce from Jim Toth earlier this month. The couple announced the end of their 12-year marriage in a joint statement on social media.

“We have some personal news to share. It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the statement read.

The duo share 10-year-old son, Tennessee, together, and noted in the statement that he will be their “biggest priority” moving forward. Witherspoon also shares two kids, daughter Ava, 23, and son Deacon, 19, with former husband Ryan Phillippe.

While Witherspoon still appears on the big—and small—screen in plenty of movies and TV shows, she’s largely pivoted her career to appearing behind the camera as well.

The Last Thing He Told Me, produced by Witherspoon’s media company Hello Sunshine, and adapted from Laura Dave’s 2021 New York Times bestseller, stars Garner as Hannah, a woman who forms an unexpected bond with her 16-year-old stepdaughter while looking for answers about her husband’s mysterious disappearance.

Witherspoon recalled how Garner fought for the role, telling Access Hollywood: “It was so great to hear her passion. She picked up the phone, we had long conversations about it. It was the perfect part for her. I love that she was going to be this kick ass woman.”

Witherspoon has also served as executive producer on recent projects like Daisy Jones & The Six and Tiny Beautiful Things. She’s also gearing up for Legally Blonde 3, which she will also star in, reprising her role as the bubbly yet not-to-be-underestimated Elle Woods.

The Last Thing He Told Me is available to stream now on Apple TV+.
