Pamela Anderson | Vivienne Westwood Red Label Show - London - 18.09.2008

Attention-seeker Pamela Anderson turns heads at Fashion Week in outrageous golden mini-dress

Flicking her long blonde hair and chatting to her masked companion she made an unusual addition to the front row of London Fashion Week.

But then Pamela Anderson was never going to be inconspicuous.

The Baywatch actress was at British designer Vivienne Westwood's eagerly awaited show, which attracted an all-star turnout and a rapturous reception last night.

Model Kate Moss was dressed more sombrely than Pamela in a black tuxedo jacket and mini-skirt, while Dita Von Teese looked striking in a sculpted peach two-piece at the show in Earls Court's Brompton Hall.

Actress Jaime Winstone, who modelled for Westwood last year, showed up in a loose gold sparkly jacket and flat leggings.

She professed herself delighted with the legendary designer's spring-summer 2009 collection.

She said: 'It's beautiful, it's absolutely beautiful. I really liked the Russian headpieces, they are definitely going to be a purchase of mine.'

She said she was also a big fan of the 'flowy' suits.

Westwood's Red Label collection is built around a core of tailored separates and suits, mixing ethnic-inspired shapes and cut together with a masculine severity and more classic feminine 'flou' shapes.

Tea dresses in fluid, draped and knotted fabrics add an air of English nostalgia while ethnic-inspired geometric-based cuts, including large, draped 'harem' pants, Arab hooded dresses and 'pull up' skirts lend an exotic mood to the look.

Colours are muted, unbleached and often enriched with jewelled brights and gold metallics.

Fabrics are light and fine, with the lightest-weight summer wools for tailoring, silk satins, printed viscose and washed cottons.

Among the models on the catwalk were Daisy Lowe, up-and-coming new model Tallulah Morton, TV presenter Alexa Chung and Jourdan Dunn, who is being touted in some quarters as the new Naomi Campbell.

It was Ms Dunn who accompanied Westwood down the catwalk at the end of the show.

The godmother of punk chic was dressed eye-catchingly in a loose black dress, her distinctive read hair pulled back in a ponytail.

Also spotted in the audience were actress Emma Watson, Pixie Geldoff, model Erin O'Connor, Kimberley Stewart, daughter of rock star Rod Stewart, designer Henry Holland, actress Mischa Barton and singer Roisin Murphy.

Von Tees, who smiled sweetly for the army of photographers before and after the show, said: 'The collection was great.'
