Kim Kardashian Becomes Liquid Metal in ‘Ripped’ Balenciaga Bodycon Dress at ‘SNL 50: Anniversary Special’
The couture gown was treated to resemble gunmetal.
After hosting “Saturday Night Live,” Kim Kardashian has returned as a guest to the long-running sketch show’s 50-year anniversary. She joined a crush of celebrities on Sunday in New York at the event, including past crew, guests and general fans of the broadcast.
Styled by Dani Levi, Kardashian wore a simple floor-length bodycon gown from Balenciaga Couture. The fabric had the reflective effect of gunmetal with glass bead embellishments. The design featured two straps as well as a split up the back for mobility. In addition, it featured an extremely nipped waist.
The gown contains detailing in areas where the garment may stretch, with treatment to resemble tiny tears. From far away, the metal-like fabric appears scratched. It resembles techniques that Demna has explored in Balenciaga’s destroyed tights and pantaboots, which have been treated to resemble getting a “run” in stockings.
Kardashian also wore towering Pleaser heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Hairstylist Chris Appleton gave her black hair, bombshell curls. The bodycon, nipped waist silhouette is a go-to for Kardashian. At the Met Gala in 2024, she wore a corset on the red carpet to emphasize the effect.
