Christina Aguilera Glistens in Balmain at the Joy Awards in Riyadh

Christina Aguilera shined bright on the red carpet at the 2025 Joy Awards in Riyadh. The music star attended the fifth iteration of the awards show and chose a sparkling ensemble for the occasion.
Aguilera opted to wear a statuesque look from Balmain‘s pre-fall 2025 collection, consisting of a trompe-l’œil sequined skirt and a button-up cotton shirt with an oversized collar. Aguilera paired both with rectangular sunglasses and spiky drop diamond earrings.
When Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing shared Balmain‘s pre-fall 2025 collection, he told WWD that the intent behind it was to bring the fashion house “back to the roots, bringing a new softness to the brand…and with more of a clean silhouette.” We are really opening to another world,” Rousteing added.
Aguilera was in attendance to perform at the awards show, which also brought out Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey, Amanda Seyfried, Morgan Freeman, Anthony Hopkins, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Martin Lawrence. “The Voice” alumnus opened the show with a performance of her 2002 song “The Voice Within” and also treated the audience to her breakout 1999 hit “Genie in a Bottle.”
The Joy Awards, which was organized by Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority to recognize standouts across film, TV, sports and social media, also featured performances from Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble, Wael Kfoury, and Mohammed Abdu.
Aguilera has been favoring metallics as of late, which were trending on the red carpet throughout 2024, notably at the Emmy Awards and the CMA Awards. In November the music artist wore an edgy take on holiday dressing with gold metallic short-shorts paired with a winter coat, T-shirt, tights and over-the-knee boots to a celebration for the reopening of H&M’s Times Square flagship. The look was reminiscent of Aguilera’s aughts style — which continues to influence fashion to this day.
