Adriana Lima | 'The Killer' premiere, 80th Venice International Film Festival, Italy - September 3, 2023
Adriana Lima stuns in a figure-hugging black gown as she attends The Killer premiere at the 80th annual Venice Film Festival
Adriana Lima caught the eye in a glamorous ensemble as she hit the red carpet for The Killer premiere during the 80th Venice Film Festival on Sunday evening.
The Brazilian supermodel, 42, was the epitome of class in a backless sparkling black gown as she made her latest public appearance in northern Italy.
The figure-hugging garment featured a floor-length train skirt which hid her shoes as it graciously flew behind her.
The former Victoria's Secret angel posed up a storm as she further accessorised the stunning look with a pair of classy black shades.
Adriana gleamed under the spotlight as she also wore a dazzling diamond double necklace, along with matching diamond rings and pendant earrings.
The catwalk sensation looked in great spirits as she showed off a huge smile for the camera, and exuded confidence while posing for photographers.
Adriana was also captured posing alongside Venice Film Festival's president and famous film critic Alberto Barbera - as the duo looked cheerful on the red carpet.
The Brazilian stunner - who welcomed her third child in August 2022 - delighted fans with another head-turning ensemble on Saturday as she attended the Maestro premiere in Venice.
Among one of the few stars in attendance for the glitzy premiere, the fashion icon stunned in an elegant gold halter neck gown for the event, which also saw stars such as Lady Victoria Hervey and Isabella Huppert in attendance.
Noticeably absent from the occasion was Bradley Cooper, who stars as composer Leonard Bernstein in the film, as much of Hollywood stays away from the red carpet due to ongoing strike action by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.
Gracing the red carpet, Adriana posed in the gold figure-hugging ensemble when she descended the red carpet.
She accessorised with an eye-catching diamond red necklace, a pair of matching droplet earrings, and a large red ring.
The Venice Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday, and usually sees some of Hollywood's biggest stars grace the red carpet to promote their work.
However, this year only a handful of independent productions have permission to be promoted by their stars, with Venice confirming on Monday that Adam Driver and Jessica Chastain will still make appearances at the festival.
Since July 17, Hollywood has ground to a halt as members of the SAG-AFTRA union joined the Writers Guild Of America in going on strike over growing concerns of the use of artificial intelligence and streaming residuals.
According to Variety, a select list of films premiering at Venice have obtained SAG-AFTRA interim waivers since they are independent productions that have not been produced by AMPTP members.
The ongoing SAG-AFTRA Strike, which enters its 45th day of protests, have seen many well-known actors showing solidarity with striking actors by doing one (or several) of the following actions: issuing statements of support of the strikes; joining picket lines in LA, New York City; and donating/handing out water bottles and/or food to the picketers.
Among the well-known names who took part in the picket lines in either Los Angeles or New York City include Jason Sudeikis, Susan Sarandon, Vanessa Hudgens, Mandy Moore, Logan Lerman, America Ferrera, and Josh Gad, to name a few.
The U.K. actors union Equity held rallies in London and Manchester on July 21 in support of SAG-AFTRA Strike. Brian Cox, Jim Carter, Hayley Atwell, David Oyelowo, and Oscar-nominated actress Imelda Staunton, were in attendance.
While there has been little movement in talks between the AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA, discussions with the WGA appear to have reached a stalemate.
The sides have not met since August 18 when the AMPTP rejected a counter-offer from the WGA, and since then there's been no move to resume talks.
SAG-AFTRA told members in an email on Sunday that the negotiating committee is ready to return to the table 'at a moment's notice,' but so far there has been little progress.
